MOLDING MACHINES PRESENT SMART SOLUTIONS FOR INDUSTRY 4.0 PRODUCTION
On November 16th and 17th, Kurtz Ersa presented innovative highlights from the fields of particle foam machines and foundry machines to guests from Germany and abroad, and showed ways in which the individual systems can be intelligently linked in times of digital networking. The two-day Kurtz Ersa in-house exhibition of Molding Machines recorded an absolute record. With 500 registered people for the first day, the lecture program, vivid live demos in the facility, and the general program hit the mark of visitor interest.
On the first day, lectures began every hour, which formed the theoretical substructure for the exhibits in the machine factory. In addition to lectures by internal staff, many Kurtz Ersa business partners were not only present as guests, but also made contributions to the content of the in-house exhibition by giving lectures – for example about professional engineering and project management as essential success factors for foundry projects.
Lectures well received
The well-vsited lectures showed how manufacturing can be made even more efficient and productive worldwide. BMW took the audience on a journey to innovative casting concepts for crankcase housings in light metal, and August Mössner GmbH introduced a flexible finishing line for chassis parts. Between the individual lectures there was time for expert discussions.
Among other things, the foundry machines presented their furnace shuttle system for large series using the example of the AL 18-16 FSC. With Kurtz Ersa oven and shuttle technology (oven size up to 3,000 kg), the best melt quality is achieved, which can be cast with low turbulence using pressure control and proven Kurtz Ersa mold technology, leading to the best mechanical properties with significantly reduced cycle times.
Highlights of the foundry machines were the innovation casting machine and deburring press, which were presented for the first time. Visitors were amazed when they were presented with the intelligent machine control system, the tool-free quick-change system of deburring tools and molds, including media coupling system and maximum energy efficiency through variable-speed motor-pump drives. The innovation press also has up to 30 percent faster traversing speeds.
Legendary Party
After the end of the lectures, the entertainment was far from over – after a small break, the legendary Kurtz Ersa staircase party, a catered affair at which a small seasonal orchestra played. After switching to a small cast with tuba, cajon, guitar and accordion, the four-piece ensemble even fit into the elevator and brought musical atmosphere to the upper floors.
“We are delighted with the fantastic response of our customers to the 2017 in-house exhibition and the positive feedback on our event. Behind this is a huge effort, which has clearly demonstrated to our business partners the broad spectrum of Kurtz Ersa services of molding machines in terms of digital networking in the form of forward-looking and competitive solutions. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun! On behalf of the management, I would like to thank all customers, partners and employees who have contributed to the success of the Kurtz Ersa in-house exhibition,” said Kurtz Managing Director Uwe Rothaug.
